There is little doubt that happiness is an inside job. You want to have it, but you need to work at it. We at "Connections to a New Life" see people all the time that have issues they just need to talk about. You would be surprised how up lifting life can be by doing things that make you feel good. Many seniors especially feel that once they retire, they’ve outlived their usefulness....Nonsense. There are hundreds of meaningful ways to pass on your wisdom and knowledge. Volunteer at the local library or one of the military veterans’ organizations. Just because your career ended, your life hasn't. Now is the time to take control of the rest of your journey. The choices are only limited by you.
The same holds true for the younger generations. You are busy focusing on your family or careers or both. Stop and think for just a moment how short, how fragile life is. Your happiness is not something you postpone for the future: it is something you need to design for the present. You are in control of your life and at "Connections to a New Life" we reinforce your goals and give you what is necessary for you to achieve them.
Your overall happiness and well being depends on many factors. How well you can understand your problems and how best to deal with them. We at "Connections to a New Life" focus on an individual’s entire life as it relates to goal setting, outcome creation and change. In coaching, the assumption is that individuals are capable of generating their own solutions, while the coach provides a supportive, discovery-based framework. The primary focus is on creating strategies for changing your work or personal life. Having a male and female agent helps too. Sometimes, everyone needs to feel in their comfort zone by talking to an agent of their own or opposite gender.
In addition, the true emphasis in coaching is on action, accountability, and follow-through, it supports personal growth, professional growth, and development based on individually-initiated change, since coaching is forward moving and future-focused.
Our coaching programs help people who have known success in their life, choose to add that extra edge in order to move forward to make the changes they want in life.
We like to say that as your life coach we wear many hats. Sometimes as a facilitator, advocate, friend, navigator, partner, sometimes consultant, but it’s a dramatically different relationship from other improvement processes; in coaching, you share that power. People expect us to tell them what to do. We do not offer advice, but in reality, we prompt you to tell us what you want to do. It’s the combined effort in our coaching relationship that creates opportunity and change.
